Obviously, I need to wait for Canon to update their drivers for BS.īut, in the meantime, is there a way to 'fool' BS and allow the install of the Catalina drivers? (And, yes, I have submitted a bug report to Apple.) I downloaded latest available update (Catalina) from Canon, but BS blocks the install saying the package 'is not made for this version of MacOS'.
On the iMac, it's showing driver v10.11.3 which I am guessing are the generic Apple drivers because I cannot check the toner levels with this driver. On the laptop, the driver version is listed as 2.0 and allows me to not only print OK but to check the toner cartridge levels, etc. It prints the colors on a sheet, but no black text. Today, I installed the latest BS beta on my 2017 iMac and discovered a problem with the printer drivers for my Canon MF 731 color laser. I've been running Big Sur on a backup MacBook Pro for several weeks without any major issues.
